My name is Brisa Franco. I’m a longtime resident of Forest Grove, and I believe every student deserves a clear and supportive path to higher education or meaningful career opportunities. As a recent graduate of Forest Grove High School, George Fox University, and a current law student at Lewis & Clark, I’m uniquely positioned to help our district build and improve these pathways.

As a school board member, my priorities include:

Supporting teachers and staff by prioritizing their needs and helping them meet daily challenges.

Listening to students and working to create a safe, inclusive environment that reflects and responds to their lived experiences.

Increasing student engagement by connecting them with mentors and opportunities to explore their passions and career paths.

As a Latina and first-generation college student, higher education wasn’t easily accessible to me. Navigating these challenges, especially in spaces where diversity was limited, showed me how the Forest Grove School District can better support its students, especially those who are not traditionally represented in higher education or positions of power.

I'm running for Forest Grove School Board to be a voice for all students. To expand access to resources for those pursuing college or careers, and to uplift the teachers doing incredible work every day.

I will help prepare students to succeed in school and develop their path forward in education and their career by providing meaningful mentorship and career development opportunities. I am committed to ensuring that teachers receive the support they need by advocating for necessary resources and promoting a supportive work environment. When our teachers and staff are fully supported they are better able to guide students who will shape our community.I can bring a new and unique perspective to the board that will positively impact the Forest Grove School District.

My lived experience as a Latina and first-generation student gives me a unique lens. One that will bring a fresh, needed perspective to the school board and help us support every student’s success.

It would be an honor to earn your vote.
